Title: Short introduction into the problems of quantum gravity
Abstract:
Formulation of the quantum theory of gravity is one of the main unsolved problems of modern theoretical physics. We will present in short what are the problems of quantization of the gravitational field and which are the main research directions which aim to solve them. Given that quantum gravity should be a fundamental theory, we will also touch upon some topics in classical and quantum physics, cosmology, philosophy and some details from mathematical logic and topology.
The lecture will not contain too much technical details, and is aimed at a wide audience.
